In “Sherlock Jr”, Buster Keaton is a movie projectionist who dreams of being a great detective. This brilliant film-within-a-film is clever, funny and timeless. Keaton’s physical antics as well as his cinematic story-telling genius are on full display in this amazing 1924 silent masterpiece.

Gideon Freudmann is a groundbreaking musician who has helped to redefine the cello. He is classically trained and uses those skills to expand the stylistic and tonal range of the instrument. He has recorded 25 CDs and composed a catalog of cello ensemble sheet music. His music appears in film and TV, he is a contributor to NPR and “This American Life”, a TEDtalk speaker and has toured in 4 continents.

Gideon’s original scores for silent films incorporate classical, jazz, folk and world music. Working with a cello and an array of pedal effects, he creates elaborate sound textures, catchy melodies and exciting rhythms that beautifully enhance and energize the imagery of silent films.
