Ailey II, the dynamic second company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, brings some of the country’s most promising early-career dancers to the WMPAC stage.
Founded in 1974 as a bridge between The Ailey School and the professional dance world, Ailey II pairs the spirit and energy of emerging dance talent with the creative vision of today’s outstanding and rising choreographers.
Under Artistic Director Francesca Harper, the company continues Alvin Ailey’s pioneering mission while forging a new path for modern dance that is inclusive, experimental and transformative.
The 2026–27 season features a riveting repertory of new work, new productions by Alvin Ailey and Ronald K. Brown and cherished works from the Ailey repertory, showcasing the virtuosity, passion and artistry of this extraordinary company.
