PRESENTATION & FILM @ 7:15pm
The Montana Hoops Project is a photography exhibit and presentation by Lone Peak High School student, Jessie Bough.
Jessie’s photos and presentation make up a story about small town spirit, fading mascots, heartbreaking rivalries and ever-present hope all bundled into one very American symbol: the basketball hoop. Jessie will tell this story through photos taken during the summer of 2020, a time of stress and loneliness, visually showing how small towns in Montana coped with grit, humor and hope. A road trip through the Hi-Line and Tribal Lands of Montana led Jessie to a different epidemic, that of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. She is using the project to draw attention to MMIW through this exhibit about rural Montana.
Doors will open at 6:30 for exhibit viewing and court-side style snacks. Jessie’s presentation will begin at 7:15 on stage and will be followed by a 30 minute film about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Montana.
Free admission with a voluntary donation of $5 recommended to support MMIW organizations in Montana.
