JUST ADD WATER

A New Comedy by John Ludin
Sponsored by 320 Guest Ranch
It’s a recipe for comic disaster in the new play JUST ADD WATER when three grown siblings, who don’t agree on anything, are faced with a family dilemma – how best to memorialize dear ol’ dad. Stir in simmering childhood memories and things hilariously spiral out of control, despite the best efforts of loopy aunt Maggie, a philosophical TV repairman and a vagabond priest.

Written by Emmy winner John Ludin, Just Add Water has had successful runs in Bozeman and Billings and now makes its way to Big Sky to unleash its own brand of Montana-made humor. If you have children, or a brother or sister – or have ever rolled your eyes at dear ol’ dad and mom, this comic exploration of parents, sibling rivalries and family reunions is not to be missed.

The cast for Just Add Water includes Joel Jahnke, Rhonda Smith, Keith Krutchkoff, Mark Kuntz, Valarie Andrews, Kathy Jahnke and Harry Jahnke. Set design is by M.A. Hare, costume design by Michael Dixon and the production is directed by John Ludin.

NOTE: There are adult themes and some language; recommended for audiences ages 15 and up.

Audience Review

“Dear John,

I so loved your play. Talk about just adding water…I found myself crying frequently throughout the show, the level of vulnerability you wrote in and your actors achieved was pretty stunning. I didn’t directly work my own family story into this but I know it was somewhere informing the poignant scene work you created. Yes, it was very funny at points. But it was equally deeply moving.

We would have stayed for the post-show chat but I was a bit shattered emotionally; your play has some serious charge. I didn’t think I’d be able to ask a question or make a comment without getting choked up.

Thanks for a poignantly wonderful evening.” – Eric Funk, Host of 11th and Grant
