This May 25 and 26, the Lone Peak High Thespian Society and Theater Club will offer their rendition of the hilarious dual parody of musicals and murder mysteries.
Featuring the largest, and most experienced cast in the high school’s short musical theatrical history (the mystery will be its fourth show), Curtains will also be the largest cast ever staged. Veterans of the Big Sky Broadway summer stage make up more than half of the cast, which includes graduating seniors Ellie Quackenbush, Luisa Locker and Dasha Bough, who have been performing with the local company since 2009. Senior Bridger Babcock, returning for his second show, is also featured in the lead comic role of the flamboyant theater director, Christopher Belling.
The show follows the story of an on-stage murder being investigated by a Boston detective (Evan Redmon) who falls in love with its leading lady (Anna Alvin/Ava King). Quarantined on stage after members of the cast and crew start meeting an early demise, the show follows the rest of the cast and crew as they attempt to figure out who did it while also continuing to rehearse for their Broadway premiere.
Produced by Barbara Rowley and directed by John Zirkle, with musical direction from Klaudia Kosiak and choreography by Jennifer Waters, the show will premiere at 7:00 on Thursday, May 25 and close after another show on Friday, May 26. Tickets are available on-line at warrenmillerpac.org or at the door door.
The show is rated PG/PG-13.
