Community Programs

As the first and only live theatre venue in the Big Sky area, the Center is ground zero for all local theatrical and musical organizations. The Big Sky Community Chorus, Big Sky Community Theater, and Big Sky Broadway, the area’s children’s musical theater company, all call the center home during their performing seasons. In addition, the theatre offers community organizations a fitting location for lectures, meetings and civic ceremonies.

But while the Center will always remain rooted in community-created artistic ventures, its programming aspires to a greater world view. In 2013-2014, the Center launched its first season with a diverse program including a multitude of fine arts and artists from around the world.

Community Theatre

Jesters, divas, and intellectuals recommended. The Community Theatre presents one major show a year, and is put together with all local actors, directors, set designers, and more.  Contact Community Theatre Directors John Zirkle at and Jeremy Harder at for more information.

Community Chorus

The Big Sky Community Chorus consists of people who enjoy singing from Big Sky and the greater Southwest Montana community. The group puts on two concerts each year, in the Spring and Fall, and prepares music from all periods and styles, which are selected depending on the mood and, more often than not, the weather conditions. No auditions necessary; just show up! Rehearsals are once a week from September to December and January to April.

Located on the campus of Big Sky School District #72, the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center is a combined school and community multi-use facility. During the school day, students fill the center with their ideas and talents under the supervision of a faculty of drama, visual arts, and music professionals.
